Entry Level Turner - Contract Position



We are currently seeking an Entry Level Turner to join our team in Washington, D.C. This is a contract position with a starting salary of $1400 per month. As a Turner, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of machinery used for shaping and cutting metal parts. This is an ideal role for someone looking to gain experience in the field without prior experience or formal education.

Responsibilities:
- Operate machinery such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to shape and cut metal parts according to specifications
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine machining operations
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Maintain machines by performing routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning and lubricating
- Troubleshoot any issues with machines or finished products

Requirements:
- No prior experience required, but candidates with vocational training in machining or mechanical engineering will be given preference
- Must have basic knowledge of machine tools and their functions
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
