Smelter Operator
We are seeking a skilled Smelter Operator to join our team in Eldoret, Kenya. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating and maintaining smelting equipment, as well as a strong understanding of safety protocols. As a Smelter Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring and adjusting the smelting process to ensure efficient production of high-quality metal products. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain smelting equipment according to established procedures
- Monitor temperature, pressure, and other factors to ensure optimal smelting conditions
- Troubleshoot issues and make adjustments to maintain consistent production levels
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while handling hazardous materials
- Record data and maintain accurate logs of production activities
- Assist with routine maintenance tasks as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training in metallurgy is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Smelter Operator or similar role in a manufacturing setting
- Working knowledge of smelting processes, equipment, and tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and strong recordkeeping skills
- Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a hot industrial environment
Salary:
The salary for this position is $1600 per month.
