Entry Level Librarian in Karachi, Pakistan


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our library team in Karachi, Pakistan as an Entry Level Librarian. As a librarian, you will be responsible for assisting with the organization and maintenance of library materials, assisting patrons with inquiries and research needs, and promoting a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all library visitors.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for literature and a strong understanding of library systems and procedures. Prior experience is not required but having excellent organizational skills and a customer service mindset is essential. This position is open to all genders, however, we strongly encourage women to apply.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with the organization and shelving of library materials
- Provide assistance to patrons with locating materials and answering research inquiries
- Manage circulation desk duties such as checking out books, collecting fines, and issuing library cards
- Promote library programs and events to increase community engagement
- Maintain cleanliness and order within the library space
- Collaborate with other library staff on special projects or initiatives

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Library Science preferred but not required
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist diverse groups of individuals
- Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Salary: 1000$ per month (negotiable based on experience)

Location: Karachi, Pakistan (local candidates preferred)
