Moderator (Svalbard)


As a Moderator in Svalbard, you will be responsible for monitoring and moderating online content to ensure it aligns with the platform's guidelines and policies. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive or controversial topics in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor user-generated content on the platform and take appropriate action (removing, editing, reporting)
- Review reported content and make judgment calls on whether it violates community guidelines
- Communicate with users regarding content moderation decisions
- Stay updated on current trends and issues within the community to better understand user behavior
- Collaborate with other moderators to develop and implement new moderation strategies
- Identify potential safety concerns or risks within the community and address them accordingly
- Provide support to users experiencing technical issues or inquiries related to moderation

Requirements:
- Previous experience in content moderation or a similar role preferred
- Strong understanding of online communities, social media platforms, and internet culture
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to remain impartial when making moderation decisions
- Strong judgment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to handle conflict or difficult situations calmly
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations related to online content is a plus
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of other languages is a plus

Salary:
This position offers a competitive salary of 1300$ per month. In addition, we provide free visa sponsorship and airfare for our employees.

Location:
This position is based in Svalbard, an archipelago located between Norway and the North Pole. While we welcome all qualified candidates regardless of nationality, this location may be more suitable for men due to its remote location and harsh climate.
