Debt Collection Specialist

As a Debt Collection Specialist, you will be responsible for contacting individuals and businesses to collect outstanding debts. You will be expected to negotiate payment plans, track payment progress, and update records accordingly. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with excellent communication and negotiation skills. This position is a contract job and does not require prior experience in debt collection. However, proficiency in English is necessary. This role is based in Mombasa but welcomes candidates from all nationalities who are willing to relocate. Accommodation and visa sponsorship will not be provided.

Responsibilities:
- Contact individuals and businesses via phone, email or in person to collect outstanding debts
- Negotiate payment plans with debtors
- Track payment progress and update records accordingly
- Provide regular reports on collection efforts
- Collaborate with team members to develop effective debt collection strategies
- Maintain professional and courteous communication with debtors at all times

Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Prior experience in customer service or collections is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong negotiation skills
- Proficiency in English is necessary; knowledge of other languages is a plus
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed

Salary: $1400/month (negotiable based on experience)

Location: Mombasa (open to candidates from all nationalities)

Employment Type: Contract (renewable)
