We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our team at a fine dining restaurant in the beautiful city of Bergen, Norway. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing innovative menus, overseeing kitchen operations, and ensuring high-quality food and service for our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Develop creative and seasonal menus that showcase local ingredients and cater to dietary restrictions
- Manage kitchen staff and ensure efficient operation of all stations
- Train and mentor kitchen employees on preparation techniques, sanitation standards, and safety procedures
- Oversee inventory and ordering of food supplies to maintain proper stock levels
- Monitor food quality to ensure consistency and adherence to restaurant standards
- Collaborate with restaurant management team to plan special events and promotions
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent work experience
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team under pressure
- Excellent time-management skills to meet deadlines without compromising quality
- Creativity and passion for creating unique dishes that exceed guest expectations
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
