Head Chef

As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen in Bungoma. Your primary role will be to lead and manage our team of cooks and kitchen staff, ensuring that all dishes are prepared and served according to our high standards. You will also be responsible for menu planning, inventory management, and maintaining food safety and sanitation standards. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced chef who is passionate about creating delicious and visually appealing dishes. The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of international cuisine and be able to train and mentor junior staff members. Additionally, the Head Chef will collaborate with management to develop new menu items, control food costs, and maintain a safe working environment.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the kitchen's operations
- Train, supervise, and schedule kitchen staff
- Create menus that reflect seasonal availability and customer preferences
- Monitor food quality and ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes
- Control food costs by managing inventory levels and portion sizes
- Ensure compliance with health codes and food safety regulations
- Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and specials
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-volume restaurant or hotel setting
- Extensive knowledge of international cuisine
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor junior staff members
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to create visually appealing dishes
- Experience with menu planning
- Strong communication skills

Salary: This position offers a competitive salary of 1500$ per month.
