Head Chef
We are in search of a talented and experienced Head Chef to join our team at a high-end restaurant in Bungoma. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff management. The ideal candidate should have a strong culinary background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing dishes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and update menus based on seasonal availability and customer preferences
- Oversee food preparation to ensure high quality and consistency
- Train and manage kitchen staff to maintain high levels of productivity and efficiency
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations during service
- Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising on quality
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role
- Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, presentation, plating, and cooking methods
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train staff
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with inventory management systems
- Understanding of health and safety regulations
- Excellent communication skills in English
Salary: $1400 per month
Location: Bungoma, Kenya (Preference for Kenyan nationals or those already residing in Bungoma)
