We are in search of a highly skilled and experienced Part-Time Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. As our database administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our company's databases to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval. This is a part-time position based in the US, suitable for individuals with experience in database administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain databases to support business operations.
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Ensure data security and integrity by implementing proper backup and recovery procedures.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as database backups, updates, and patching.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to identify and resolve database-related issues.
- Develop data models and schemas to support new applications or features.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
- Extensive knowledge of SQL databases (e.g. MySQL, SQL Server) and their associated tools.
- Experience with database design, performance tuning, backup/recovery procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Understanding of data security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g. AWS RDS).
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or Java.
This is a part-time role, with flexible working hours that can be adjusted according to your schedule. We offer competitive compensation at $1400 per month. Please note that this position does not include accommodation or visa sponsorship. Candidates must have their own valid visa for employment in the US.
