Pastry Chef - Nairobi, Kenya
We are seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Chef to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious pastries and desserts for our restaurant. Your main duties will include preparing ingredients, baking and decorating pastries, and ensuring food safety standards are met. The ideal candidate should have experience in pastry making, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for pastries and desserts according to recipes
- Bake and decorate various types of pastries such as cakes, cookies, pies, and breads
- Create new recipes and develop unique dessert menus
- Ensure all food safety standards are met during the preparation and storage of pastries
- Manage inventory of pastry ingredients and supplies
- Train other kitchen staff on pastry techniques as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
- Knowledge of various pastry making techniques and methods
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred but not required
- Excellent time management skills
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends
Salary:
The salary for this position is 1000$ per month.
