Database Administrator
A contract job opportunity has arisen for a skilled Database Administrator in Svalbard. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented individual to manage and maintain our company's databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain company databases, ensuring data accuracy, security, and availability
- Monitor database performance and make necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency
- Develop and implement backup and recovery plans to ensure data protection
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutions
- Collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure smooth integration of databases with other systems
- Conduct regular audits of databases to identify potential issues or areas for improvement
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and trends in database technology

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g. MySQL, Oracle) and SQL programming language
- Experience with database design, backup and recovery procedures, performance tuning, and security protocols
- Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Salary:
The salary for this position is $1800 per month.

Location:
This is a contract job based in Svalbard. Applicants must have their own visa or be eligible for employment in Svalbard.
