Contract Librarian (Manama, Bahrain)


We are currently seeking an experienced Librarian for a contract position in Manama, Bahrain. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing library resources, assisting students and staff with research needs, and maintaining a welcoming and organized library environment.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Librarian
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of cataloging systems and library software
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain library resources, including books, journals, and digital materials
- Assist students and staff with research needs by providing guidance on library resources and search techniques
- Create and maintain catalog records for new materials using appropriate classification systems
- Maintain an organized and welcoming library environment through shelving books, keeping shelves tidy, etc.
- Develop library programming to promote literacy and encourage reading among students
- Collaborate with other librarians to ensure consistent practices across the library system
