Head Pastry Chef
As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our pastry department. You will lead a team of pastry chefs and bakers to create delicious and visually appealing pastries and desserts. Your role will require a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and strong leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and create new pastry recipes that align with our menu offerings
- Train and supervise pastry chefs and bakers, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation
- Monitor inventory levels and order necessary supplies to maintain production demands
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following all food safety regulations
- Collaborate with other chefs to develop creative dessert offerings for special events or promotions
- Manage cost controls by monitoring budgetary guidelines and minimizing waste
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-volume establishment
- Extensive knowledge of various dessert techniques, including baking, chocolate work, sugar work, etc.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train a team
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop new recipes while also adhering to customer preferences and dietary restrictions
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Culinary degree or certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a pastry chef role
Salary: $1200 per month
