Interpreter for Multilingual Meetings


The role of an Interpreter for Multilingual Meetings is to facilitate communication between people who speak different languages. This position requires fluency in at least two languages, with a strong understanding of cultural context and customs. You will be responsible for interpreting and translating spoken words and written documents accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
- Attend multilingual meetings and conferences, acting as the intermediary between speakers of different languages
- Listen to speakers' words in one language, interpret them into another language, and convey the meaning to the audience
- Translate written documents such as reports, presentations, and correspondence from one language to another
- Ensure accuracy of interpretation by researching terminology and clarifying any unclear statements with speakers
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information during meetings
- Keep up-to-date with industry-specific terminology and jargon in all working languages
- Provide cultural context and advice on appropriate behavior when necessary
- Assist with any administrative tasks related to interpretation services

Requirements:
- Fluency in at least two languages (English required)
- Excellent verbal communication skills in both working languages
- Strong understanding of cultural context and customs
- Proven experience as an interpreter or translator is preferred but not required
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
- Knowledge of industry-specific terminology
- Flexibility to work irregular hours or travel if needed

Location: Clairvaux, France (accommodation provided)
Salary: $1600/month (negotiable based on experience)
