Foreign Language Librarian

The Foreign Language Librarian will be responsible for managing and organizing a wide range of foreign language materials in the library, including books, magazines, newspapers, and audio-visual materials. They will also provide reference and research assistance to library patrons in their preferred language. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field, fluency in at least one foreign language, and strong organizational and communication skills. This position is full-time and offers a salary of $1300 per month.

As the Foreign Language Librarian, you will work closely with library staff to ensure that all foreign language materials are properly cataloged and accessible to patrons. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with community organizations to promote the library's foreign language resources. In addition, you will assist patrons with locating and using resources in their preferred language, as well as providing instruction on how to access online resources.

The successful candidate must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. They should also have a strong understanding of library classification systems and information retrieval tools. As this position requires working with foreign languages, fluency in at least one non-English language is essential.
