Preservation Architect


We are a well-established preservation architecture firm located in Almada, seeking a talented and experienced Preservation Architect to join our team. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and monuments while ensuring their structural stability and compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site assessments of historical structures to determine their condition and identify necessary preservation or restoration work
- Develop preservation plans and proposals, including cost estimates, timelines, and materials needed
- Collaborate with other architects, engineers, contractors, and preservation specialists to execute preservation projects
- Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and construction documents for restoration work
- Monitor construction progress to ensure adherence to preservation plans and standards
- Conduct regular site visits to inspect the quality of work and address any issues that may arise
- Research historical building techniques and materials to ensure accuracy in restoration projects
- Keep up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry developments related to historic preservation

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field
- Proven experience in historic preservation projects
- Knowledge of architectural design principles, building codes, safety regulations, and construction methods
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other architectural software
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Excellent communication skills

Salary:
Starting salary for this position is $1600 per month.

Location:
This is a full-time job located in Almada. Applicants must be eligible to work in Portugal.
