Database Administrator (Contract)

We are in need of a skilled Database Administrator to join our team on a contract basis in Oslo. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's databases, ensuring their security and efficiency. You must have prior experience in database administration and be able to work with various database management systems. As this is a contract position, you must be able to work independently and efficiently within strict timelines.

Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain database management systems
- Monitor database performance and optimize for maximum efficiency
- Ensure data security through regular backups and disaster recovery planning
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise with databases
- Collaborate with other IT team members to design and implement new databases as needed
- Create and maintain documentation on database structures, processes, and procedures

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator (at least 3 years)
- Proficiency in SQL and other database languages
- Strong knowledge of database security best practices
- Experience working with multiple database management systems (such as MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server)
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills
