Part-Time Preservation Architect
Location: Braga, Portugal
We are seeking a detail-oriented Preservation Architect to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, preserving and restoring historic buildings and structures. You will work closely with clients and other professionals to ensure the preservation of cultural heritage sites while also adhering to modern building codes and standards. This position is ideal for students studying architecture who are looking to gain hands-on experience in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site visits and assessments of historic buildings and structures.
- Develop preservation plans and proposals for clients.
- Collaborate with other architects, engineers, and contractors on restoration projects.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create drawings and renderings.
- Conduct research on historical preservation techniques and materials.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field.
- Experience in historic preservation or restoration is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
