Sous Chef
As a Sous Chef at our high-end restaurant in El-Ain, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations. You will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure the highest quality of food and service is delivered to our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and development, ensuring a balance of creativity and profitability
- Oversee food preparation and cooking, ensuring dishes are executed to the highest standards
- Train and mentor junior chefs, ensuring consistency in cooking techniques and safe food handling practices
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Monitor food costs, waste, and portion control to maximize profitability
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction
- Assist with scheduling and managing kitchen staff
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Sous Chef or senior line cook in a fine dining establishment
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train others effectively
- Knowledge of culinary techniques, dish presentation, and current food trends
- Proven ability to maintain high quality standards while working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English (Arabic is a plus)
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Salary: $1500 per month (tax-free) plus benefits including housing allowance, medical insurance, annual flight ticket home.
Note: This position is open to non-Arabic speaking candidates who are fluent in English. Work permit sponsorship will be provided for qualified candidates.
