Executive Chef
We are a 5-star resort located in the beautiful city of Malindi, seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our team. As the head of our culinary department, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation and presentation. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for creating unique and delicious dishes, as well as strong leadership skills to manage and train our kitchen staff.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
- Create new menu items and adapt existing ones to meet guests' needs
- Monitor food quality and consistency, ensuring high standards are maintained
- Train and manage kitchen staff, including scheduling and performance evaluations
- Oversee inventory management to ensure adequate supply levels
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an Executive Chef in a high-end hotel or restaurant
- Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Salary: $1400 per month (negotiable based on experience)
