Junior Sous Chef
Are you a culinary enthusiast with a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing dishes? We are seeking a talented Junior Sous Chef to join our team at our luxury hotel in Monte-Carlo. In this role, you will work alongside our Executive Chef and be responsible for assisting in managing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen. As a Junior Sous Chef, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and learn from experienced professionals while working with high-quality ingredients and state-of-the-art equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in overseeing the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals according to standard recipes and guidelines
- Help manage inventory and ordering of food supplies to ensure freshness and quality
- Monitor food preparation methods to maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, portion control, and plating presentation
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development, including creating new dishes and updating existing ones
- Adhere to all sanitation regulations and maintain a clean work environment
- Ensure cost-effective use of ingredients while minimizing waste
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant or hotel setting
- Passion for food preparation with creative flair for developing new dishes
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and culinary terminology
- Excellent communication skills with ability to effectively lead kitchen staff during busy shifts
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexible schedule to accommodate evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or related certification from an accredited institution is preferred but not required.
- Experience working with French cuisine is highly desirable.
Salary: $1000 per month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Monte-Carlo (accommodation provided)
Visa: Work visa sponsorship available for non-EU citizens
