Librarian - Lahore, Pakistan


We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our team in Lahore, Pakistan. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library collection, assisting patrons with research and reference needs, and promoting library resources and services.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the library collection, including cataloging, shelving, and weeding materials.
- Assist patrons with research inquiries and provide reference services.
- Promote library resources and services through outreach activities.
- Develop and implement library programs for different age groups.
- Train library staff on library procedures and technologies.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in library science.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the integration of library resources into curriculum or programming.
- Maintain accurate records of circulation statistics and other data.
- Participate in collection development by selecting materials to add to the collection.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a library setting.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist patrons from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficient in using library technologies, such as integrated library systems and databases.
- Knowledge of cataloging standards (MARC), classification systems (Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress), and metadata standards (Dublin Core).
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.

Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of $1000 per month for this full-time position.

Location:
Our main branch is located in Lahore, Pakistan. The successful candidate must have their own visa allowing them to work in Pakistan.
