Sous Chef
As a Sous Chef at our restaurant in Khanpur, your main responsibility will be to assist the head chef in managing the kitchen operations and ensuring top-quality food is served to our customers. You will be required to have a strong understanding of different culinary techniques and possess excellent leadership skills to guide and train junior kitchen staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the head chef in creating menus and specials, taking into consideration customer preferences, seasonal ingredients, and food costs
- Oversee the preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes according to established recipes and quality standards
- Monitor food inventory levels, place orders for supplies as needed, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Train and supervise junior chefs, ensuring they adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines while maintaining high-quality food standards
- Collaborate with other departments such as front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service operations
- Handle any customer complaints or issues related to food quality or service promptly and professionally
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognized institution preferred
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, kitchen equipment operation, safety protocols, and food hygiene standards
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and manage a team
- Flexible schedule with availability for evening shifts, weekends, and holidays
