Executive Chef - African Cuisine
We are seeking a highly skilled Executive Chef with experience in African cuisine to join our team at our restaurant in Akron. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen, creating new and innovative menu items, and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
- Create new menu items and maintain high-quality standards for all dishes
- Train and supervise kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, portion control, and presentation
- Ensure all kitchen operations comply with health and safety regulations
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Collaborate with management to develop cost-effective menus that meet customer preferences and budgetary requirements
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role, specializing in African cuisine
- Creative mindset with a passion for culinary arts
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and ingredients used in African cuisine
- Understanding of food costs, labor costs, inventory management, and budgeting
- Excellent communication skills to effectively train staff and collaborate with other departments
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
- At least 5 years of experience working as an Executive Chef in a high-volume environment
- Must have a valid work permit for Akron or be eligible to obtain one
within a reasonable time frame
Salary: $1100 per month (negotiable based on experience)
