Bilingual Interpreter

As a Bilingual Interpreter, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between individuals who speak different languages. You will work in various settings such as conferences, meetings, legal proceedings, and medical appointments. Your main duty will be to accurately interpret and convey spoken or written messages from one language to another. You must have excellent language proficiency in both English and the native language of the individuals you are interpreting for.

Responsibilities:
- Listen carefully to conversations and accurately interpret spoken messages into the target language
- Translate written documents from one language to another while maintaining the original meaning and tone
- Understand cultural nuances and slang to ensure accurate interpretation
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times
- Ensure efficient communication flow by taking turns speaking with speakers using consecutive or simultaneous interpretation techniques
- Assist with any necessary paperwork or documentation related to interpreting assignments
- Stay updated on industry-specific terminology in both languages
- Provide excellent customer service by being professional, punctual, and respectful at all times

Requirements:
- Fluency in English and the native language(s) of the clients you will be interpreting for
- Proven experience as an interpreter or translator, preferably in a professional setting
- Strong communication skills with the ability to accurately convey messages between languages
- Excellent listening skills with the ability to understand various accents and dialects
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt quickly to changing situations
- Familiarity with industry-specific terminology
- Degree in translation or interpretation is preferred

Salary: $1400 per month

Location: Almada (accommodation provided)
