Head Chef
As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing delicious and visually appealing dishes for our restaurant in Herning. You will oversee the kitchen staff, manage inventory, and ensure food safety and quality standards are met. Your culinary expertise and leadership skills will be essential in maintaining our reputation as a top dining destination. We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented individual with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. A deep understanding of local ingredients, seasonal produce, and modern cooking techniques is required. A competitive salary of 1700$ per month is offered for this full-time position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative menus that showcase local flavors and ingredients
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness
- Oversee food preparation to ensure quality and consistency
- Collaborate with management to create cost-effective menus while maintaining high-quality standards
- Manage food costs by minimizing waste and optimizing portion control
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends to constantly improve menu offerings
- Lead by example by demonstrating culinary techniques and providing guidance to junior chefs
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-volume restaurant setting
- Excellent knowledge of local ingredients, seasonal produce, and modern cooking techniques
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop innovative menus that cater to different dietary restrictions
- In-depth understanding of food safety regulations
- Proven track record in managing food costs while maintaining quality standards
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluent in English (Danish is a plus)
