Library Assistant - Al-Rayyan, Qatar


We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Library Assistant to join our team in Al-Rayyan, Qatar. As a Library Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining the library's collection, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and providing general administrative support.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in the organization and maintenance of the library's collection, including shelving, cataloging, and processing new materials
- Provide reference and research assistance to library patrons, including locating materials and answering general inquiries
- Assist with circulation services such as checking books in/out, issuing library cards, and updating patron records
- Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure accuracy of the collection
- Create displays and promotional materials to promote library resources and events
- Assist with planning and coordinating library programs and events for various age groups
- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the library space
- Help train new staff members on library procedures and policies

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Previous experience working in a library setting is preferred but not required
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficiency in using computer systems for cataloging, database management, and research purposes
- Familiarity with current trends in library services
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Salary: 1400$ per month
