Preservation Architect
As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures in the beautiful city of Faroe Islands. Your role will involve conducting thorough research and assessments of buildings, developing preservation plans, and overseeing restoration projects. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and other professionals to ensure that all preservation work is carried out according to industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed research and assessments of historical buildings to determine their condition and any necessary preservation work
- Develop preservation plans that comply with local laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other professionals to ensure that all preservation work is carried out effectively
- Oversee restoration projects from start to finish, ensuring quality control and adherence to timelines
- Provide guidance on the use of appropriate materials and techniques for preservation work
- Maintain accurate records of all preservation projects, including budgets, schedules, and progress reports
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments, new techniques, and best practices in historical preservation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in historic building conservation or restoration
- Strong knowledge of building materials, techniques, and processes used in historic construction
- Ability to conduct thorough research and write detailed reports on historical buildings
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, contractors, and other professionals
- Familiarity with local laws and regulations related to historic preservation
- Passion for preserving cultural heritage through architectural conservation
We offer a competitive salary package of 1600$ per month. This is a full-time position based in Faroe Islands. Candidates without experience but with a strong interest in historic preservation are welcome to apply. Accommodation can be provided if needed.
