Excavator Operator


We are hiring an experienced Excavator Operator to join our team in Svalbard. As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment to excavate, move, load and grade earth, rock, gravel or other materials. You will also be required to maintain and repair equipment as needed.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating excavators
- Must have a valid excavator certificate
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
- Knowledge of safety procedures for operating heavy equipment

Responsibilities:
- Operate excavators to perform tasks such as digging trenches, grading land, loading trucks and moving materials
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as checking fluid levels, greasing parts and replacing worn parts
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations while operating equipment
- Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Maintain a clean work area
