Reference Librarian - Al Ahmadi, Kuwait (Filipino Nationals Preferred)
A prestigious library in Al Ahmadi, Kuwait is seeking a skilled Reference Librarian to join our team. As a reference librarian, you will be responsible for assisting library patrons in their research needs and providing exceptional customer service. This is an urgent position and we are specifically looking for Filipino nationals who are currently residing in Kuwait.
Responsibilities:
- Provide reference and research assistance to library patrons in person, over the phone, and via email.
- Assist with collection development by selecting materials for the library's reference collection.
- Develop and conduct workshops and training sessions on using library resources for students, faculty, and staff.
- Keep up-to-date with current trends in librarianship and technology to enhance services provided by the library.
- Maintain accurate records of reference transactions and compile statistical reports.
- Assist with circulation duties as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience working as a reference librarian.
- Strong knowledge of reference materials and resources.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic language skills are a plus).
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues.
- Knowledge of current technologies used in libraries.
