Freelance Interpreter (Washington, D.C.)


We are seeking a highly skilled and professional Freelance Interpreter to join our team in Washington, D.C. As an Interpreter, you will be responsible for providing accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation services for clients from various backgrounds. Responsibilities:
- Provide consecutive interpretation services in-person or via phone/video for meetings, conferences, and other events
- Accurately convey the meaning of spoken words between two or more languages
- Ensure cultural sensitivity and adaptability to different dialects and accents
- Utilize translation equipment as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of the interpreting profession
- Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality interpretation services

Requirements:
- Fluency in English and at least one other language (Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic preferred)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interpret accurately in both languages
- Previous experience as an interpreter preferred (formal training or certification is a plus)
- Strong cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed

Salary: $1000 per week (based on experience)
