Power Engineer - Biometric Passport Project (Bungoma)


We are seeking an experienced Power Engineer to join our team in Bungoma, working on a high-profile project involving the implementation of biometric passports. As a Power Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of the power systems supporting this project.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, install, and maintain power systems for the biometric passport project
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of all power equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with power systems, ensuring minimal downtime
- Monitor power consumption and make recommendations for improvements to increase efficiency
- Collaborate with other teams involved in the biometric passport project to ensure a seamless integration of power systems with other components
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards related to power systems

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Power Engineer, preferably in a similar project-based environment
- Knowledge of power distribution systems, transformers, generators, and switchgear
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards for electrical installations
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team

Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation or equivalent certification
- Experience working on biometric passport projects or other large-scale technology installations
- Ability to speak English fluently is required; knowledge of local languages is an asset
