Smelter Operator
We are currently seeking a skilled Smelter Operator to join our team in Nakuru, Kenya. As a Smelter Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining equipment used in the smelting process to extract metal from ore. This is a contract position with an attractive salary of 1700 USD per month and accommodation provided.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor smelting process and make adjustments as needed to maintain optimal production levels
- Maintain accurate logs of production, equipment maintenance, and other relevant data
- Conduct routine inspections and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the smelting process
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Collaborate with other team members to improve production efficiency and quality control
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of waste materials
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certificate in relevant field preferred
- Previous experience working as a Smelter Operator or in a similar role preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate heavy machinery safely
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Physical stamina to work long hours standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy objects
- Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols related to smelting operations
