Insurance Claims Adjuster
As an Insurance Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for investigating and assessing insurance claims to determine the extent of damages and coverage. Your duties will include reviewing policy terms, gathering evidence, and negotiating settlements with claimants. You may also be required to collaborate with other professionals such as lawyers and medical experts to ensure fair and accurate settlements.
To excel in this role, you should have a strong understanding of insurance policies and procedures, as well as excellent analytical and negotiation skills. Previous experience in the insurance industry or a related field is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate insurance claims by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing policy terms
- Analyze information to determine the validity of claims and coverage
- Negotiate settlements with claimants or their representatives
- Work closely with legal counsel and medical experts to accurately assess damages
- Prepare detailed reports documenting findings and recommended settlement amounts
- Keep up-to-date with changes in insurance policies and regulations
- Maintain accurate records of claims activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
- Previous experience in the insurance industry or a related field preferred
- Strong understanding of insurance policies, procedures, and regulations
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other professionals
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
Location: Malindi (Preference for Kenyan candidates)
Salary: Starting at $1100 USD per month (negotiable based on experience)
