Head Pastry Chef
We are in search of an experienced and creative Head Pastry Chef to join our team at a high-end bakery in Faroe-Islands. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of pastry production, including menu planning, ordering ingredients, creating new recipes, and ensuring high-quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and create new pastry recipes that are both visually appealing and delicious
- Plan and design seasonal menus using fresh, local ingredients
- Order necessary ingredients and supplies while managing inventory levels to minimize waste
- Train and mentor junior pastry chefs on techniques, recipes, and presentation
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen to ensure a safe working environment
- Monitor food costs and make adjustments as needed to maintain profitability
- Ensure all pastries meet quality standards before being served or sold
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-volume establishment
- In-depth knowledge of various pastry techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Ability to create visually appealing pastries that taste as good as they look
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor junior staff members
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Creative mindset with a passion for staying up-to-date on current pastry trends
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or related field is preferred
Salary: 1800$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Faroe Islands (accommodation provided if needed)
