Our restaurant in Braga, Portugal is seeking a highly experienced and creative Chef de Cuisine to lead our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, inventory management, and ensuring high quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement creative and innovative menu offerings that cater to our diverse clientele
- Supervise and train kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, food safety procedures, and portion control
- Source high-quality ingredients from local suppliers to maintain the authenticity of our dishes
- Maintain inventory levels and monitor food costs to ensure profitability
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Chef de Cuisine in a high-volume restaurant setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
- Experience in international cuisine is an asset
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in Portuguese (English proficiency is an asset)
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
