Reference Services Librarian

The Reference Services Librarian will be responsible for providing research assistance and reference services to library patrons at the Horsens Public Library. This is a contract position requiring a biometric passport and experience in the field of library science. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for helping others find the information they need.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality reference services to library patrons, including assistance with research questions, locating materials, and using library resources.
- Develop and maintain expertise in a variety of subject areas in order to effectively assist patrons with their research needs.
- Conduct information literacy sessions for patrons on how to effectively use library resources and conduct research.
- Assist with collection development by identifying gaps in the library's collection and making recommendations for new materials.
- Stay up-to-date on current trends and developments in library science and technology in order to improve service delivery to patrons.
- Collaborate with other librarians and staff members on projects and initiatives related to reference services.

Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Library Science or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years experience working as a librarian, preferably in reference services.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of various research methods and resources, including databases, search engines, and print materials.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Familiarity with current trends and developments in library science, including digital technologies.

Salary:
This is a contract position paying 1700$ per month. Benefits such as health insurance are not included. Candidates must have their own accommodation in Horsens.
