Librarian - English Speaking (Muscat, Oman)


We are currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Librarian to join our team in Muscat, Oman. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's resources and providing assistance to library users. This is a full-time position that does not include accommodation or visa sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the library's collection of books, journals, and other materials
- Organize and classify materials according to established systems
- Assist library users in locating resources and provide guidance on research methods
- Develop and implement library policies and procedures
- Plan and conduct workshops to educate library users on research skills
- Manage the library's budget and make recommendations for new acquisitions
- Collaborate with faculty to support curriculum needs
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions and inventory

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience working as a Librarian in an academic or public library setting
- Excellent communication skills in English (Malayalam proficiency is a plus)
- Strong knowledge of cataloging systems and information retrieval methods
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
