Preservation Architect - Los Angeles
Our architecture firm is seeking a highly skilled Preservation Architect to join our team in Los Angeles. This position requires an individual with a strong understanding of historical preservation and architectural design. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in preservation architecture and be able to work independently on projects while also collaborating with our team.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on historical buildings, structures, and sites to determine their architectural significance
- Develop preservation plans for historic buildings and sites, including restoration and adaptive reuse proposals
- Create drawings, models, and other visual representations to support preservation plans
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other professionals to ensure the successful implementation of preservation plans
- Monitor construction progress and make any necessary adjustments to ensure the preservation of historical elements
- Prepare reports and presentations for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in preservation architecture
- In-depth knowledge of historic preservation guidelines, techniques, and materials
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit or other design software
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with team members and clients
- Experience working on complex restoration projects is preferred
Salary: $900 per week
