Factory Machine Operator

The factory machine operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machines in the production facility. They will ensure that machines are set up correctly, operate them efficiently to produce high-quality products, and perform routine maintenance as needed. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with industrial machinery, strong mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail. This is a contract role and does not include accommodation or visa sponsorship. Fluency in English is required. This position is located in Nairobi and welcomes applications from both Indian and foreign candidates.

As a factory machine operator, your responsibilities will include:

- Operating various machines in the production facility, including but not limited to lathes, drills, grinders, and presses
- Setting up machines according to specifications and monitoring their performance during operation
- Ensuring that products are produced according to quality standards and making adjustments as needed
- Performing routine maintenance on machines to keep them in good working condition
- Troubleshooting any issues that arise during production and making necessary repairs
- Following all safety protocols and maintaining a clean work environment
- Communicating with team members and supervisors about production progress and any issues that may arise
- Maintaining accurate records of production data for reporting purposes

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machine operation is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating industrial machinery in a manufacturing or production setting
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and make repairs when needed
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Good communication skills in English; proficiency in other languages is a plus
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
- Physically fit with the ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time contract position with shifts varying depending on production needs. The factory operates 24/7, so flexibility in scheduling is required. This role does not include accommodation or visa sponsorship. The factory is located in Nairobi, Kenya and may require some overtime work on weekends and holidays.
