Barista - Coffee Shop (Malindi, Kenya)


We are seeking an experienced Barista to join our team at a busy coffee shop in Malindi. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and other beverages to our customers. Your passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and attention to detail will ensure that our customers have a memorable experience.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, smoothies, and juices
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently while providing friendly and helpful service
- Operate commercial espresso machines and other equipment to make drinks according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
- Ensure the quality of ingredients used in drinks is up to standards
- Handle cash transactions using POS system accurately
- Educate customers about our products and make recommendations based on their preferences

Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Barista or similar role in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent knowledge of coffee brewing methods and latte art techniques
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude
- Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends

Salary: $1000 per month
