Executive Chef - Seasonal Contract (Braga, Portugal)
Our 5-star resort in Braga, Portugal is seeking a talented and experienced Executive Chef to join our team for a seasonal contract. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our resort's culinary operations and ensuring exceptional quality and service for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop menus and recipes that showcase local and seasonal ingredients
- Train, mentor, and manage kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain efficient kitchen operations
- Collaborate with other department heads to plan and execute special events and themed dinners
- Oversee the maintenance of kitchen equipment and facilities
- Develop cost-efficient menus while maintaining high-quality standards
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into menu offerings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a 5-star establishment
- Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of local and seasonal ingredients
- Ability to manage a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with food safety regulations
- Fluent in English (Portuguese preferred)
- Eligible to work in Portugal with visa sponsorship if needed
