Preservation Architect
A Preservation Architect is responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and landmarks. They work closely with local government agencies, private organizations, and property owners to ensure the protection and maintenance of these structures. This profession requires a strong understanding of architectural design, materials, and construction techniques used in different time periods.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of historical buildings and determine necessary preservation or restoration work
- Develop detailed plans for restoration projects, including cost estimates and timelines
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure the structural integrity of the building is maintained during restoration
- Research historical documents, blueprints, and photographs to understand the original design and construction methods of the building
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals from local government agencies for preservation projects
- Monitor progress of restoration projects and make adjustments as needed
- Document all work done on the building for future reference
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Preservation Architect
- Strong knowledge of architectural history and preservation techniques
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with multiple stakeholders
- Detail-oriented with strong project management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
Salary: 1000$ per month (based on experience)
Location: Randers (preference but not required)
Employment Type: Part-time (20 hours per week)
