Librarian - Al-Malikiyah, Syria



We are hiring a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our library team in Al-Malikiyah, Syria. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the library, including cataloging and organizing materials, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and developing programs to promote literacy and library use.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's collection by cataloging, classifying, and shelving materials according to established systems
- Assist patrons with locating materials, using library resources for research and reference purposes
- Develop and implement programs to promote literacy and encourage library use among all age groups
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions and circulation statistics
- Collaborate with other librarians and library staff to plan and coordinate special events and activities
- Stay up-to-date on emerging trends in librarianship and incorporate new technologies into the library's services
- Train volunteers or assistants on basic librarian tasks as needed
- Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment, submit purchase requests when necessary

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Previous experience working in a library setting is highly preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people
- Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office and experience using electronic databases
- Familiarity with Library of Congress classification system
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Salary: $1000 per month

This is a full-time position that includes visa sponsorship for non-Syrian candidates.
