Indian Pastry Chef in Washington DC
We are seeking a talented and experienced Indian Pastry Chef to join our team in Washington DC. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing delicious and visually appealing desserts and pastries that showcase your expertise in Indian cuisine. You will also oversee the day-to-day operations of the pastry department, including ordering ingredients, managing inventory, and ensuring quality and consistency.
Responsibilities:
- Create innovative and authentic Indian-inspired desserts and pastries
- Develop new recipes while also maintaining established menu items
- Manage inventory and order ingredients as needed
- Train and supervise pastry staff to maintain high quality standards
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with other chefs to create cohesive menu offerings
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Pastry Chef, preferably in an Indian cuisine restaurant
- Extensive knowledge of Indian flavors, ingredients, and cooking techniques
- Ability to develop unique dessert recipes while also maintaining traditional flavors
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor staff members
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food handling
Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of $1000 per week for this full-time position.
Location:
The position is located in Washington DC, a vibrant city known for its diverse culinary scene. The ideal candidate should be willing to relocate or have prior experience working in the city.
