Job Title: Pastry Chef
We are a well-established restaurant in Washington, seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Chef to join our team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about desserts and has a strong background in pastry arts. Our ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a professional kitchen and the ability to create delicious, visually appealing desserts that will leave our customers wanting more.
Responsibilities:
- Create and prepare a variety of desserts, including cakes, pastries, breads, and other sweet treats
- Develop new dessert recipes that align with current menu offerings
- Ensure that all desserts are consistently high quality and visually appealing
- Manage inventory and ordering of pastry ingredients
- Train and supervise pastry assistants and other kitchen staff members
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
- Adhere to all food safety standards and regulations
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Pastry Chef in a professional kitchen
- Formal training in pastry arts or related field preferred
- Knowledge of various baking techniques and methods
- Ability to create desserts that meet dietary restrictions or special requests from customers
- Strong attention to detail and creativity in presentation
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely delivery of desserts during busy periods
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Must be fluent in English (written and verbal)
Salary: $1300 per month
Location: Washington D.C., United States (preference for Indian nationals or those with relevant experience)
