Machine Operator
We are currently seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team in Almada. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in operating industrial machinery and a strong understanding of safety protocols. The Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating various types of machines to produce high-quality products according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up machines (e.g. lathes, mills, presses) according to specifications
- Operate machinery to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, and cutting
- Inspect parts produced by machines to ensure they meet quality standards
- Troubleshoot issues and perform basic maintenance on machines
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following safety procedures and regulations
- Communicate with team members and supervisors regarding production progress and any issues that arise
- Follow company policies and procedures at all times
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification is a plus
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Machine Operator in an industrial setting
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machinery operations
- Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring tools (e.g. calipers, micrometers)
- Basic computer skills for data entry and machine set up/adjustment
- Physically able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
Preferred Skills:
- Experience using CNC machines is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles is an asset
- Familiarity with ISO standards for quality management
- Biometric passport or willingness to obtain one
