Freelance Interpreter (English to Portuguese)



We are seeking a skilled and professional freelance interpreter to join our team in Lisbon, Portugal. As an interpreter, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between English and Portuguese speakers in a variety of settings, including business meetings, conferences, and events.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate interpretation services from English to Portuguese and vice versa
- Maintain confidentiality and neutrality during interpretation sessions
- Understand and convey cultural nuances and idiomatic expressions accurately
- Act as a cultural mediator to bridge understanding between parties
- Prepare for interpretation sessions by researching relevant terminology and subject matter
- Maintain professionalism at all times and adhere to the code of ethics for interpreters

Requirements:
- Native or near-native proficiency in both English and Portuguese
- Proven experience as an interpreter in a professional setting
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interpret accurately and in a timely manner
- Knowledge of industry-specific terminology is preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity

Salary:
The salary for this position is $1200 per month. Please note that this is a contract job without accommodation provided.
