Sous Chef
We are a highly-rated restaurant in Las Vegas, known for our innovative and diverse menu featuring global cuisine. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our team.
As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, ordering, and inventory management. You will also be responsible for training and supervising kitchen staff, maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant setting. You must have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for creating exceptional dishes. A degree in Culinary Arts or related field is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Head Chef in menu planning and development
- Oversee daily food preparation and ensure timely execution
- Train and supervise kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety procedures
- Monitor food quality and presentation to maintain consistency
- Collaborate with purchasing department to manage inventory levels and control costs
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen at all times
- Assist in creating new dishes or modifying existing ones to meet dietary or cultural requirements
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant setting
- Strong leadership abilities with the ability to train, motivate, and manage kitchen staff
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Passion for creating delicious dishes using fresh ingredients
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of culinary trends, techniques, ingredients, equipment, sanitation standards, nutrition principles,
and food allergies/sensitivities
- Degree in Culinary Arts or related field is preferred but not required
