Job Title: Smelter Operator



A smelter operator is responsible for operating and maintaining a furnace used to melt metal ores and other materials in order to extract the pure metal from them. This job is crucial in the production of various metals such as iron, copper, lead, and zinc. As a smelter operator, you will be required to monitor the furnace temperature, adjust controls to regulate the heat, and add raw materials as needed. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the furnace is running efficiently and safely by performing routine maintenance checks and repairs.

Responsibilities:
- Operate the smelting furnace according to standard procedures
- Monitor furnace temperature and make adjustments as needed
- Add raw materials to the furnace as required
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on the furnace
- Make necessary repairs to ensure furnace efficiency
- Record production data accurately
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear at all times
- Communicate with other team members to ensure smooth operations

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a smelting plant or similar setting
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in hot and noisy environments for extended periods of time
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team setting

Salary: $1300 per month

Location: Eldoret, Kenya
